Actually, I'm not playing any games at the moment! *shock* I'm busy watching Mystery Science Theater 3000. Pretty addicted to Space Invaders on my mobile ATM too ;D I've probably mentioned this before, but the newish version released on the DS (probably last year, come to think of it) is really good - but quite hard. Loads of fun, though and should be cheap considering I got it for £10 new when it first came out. :)

Power Strike II . The sega8bit meet yesterday got me kinda hooked on this gem of a game, I'm going to try and complete it this week. Quick question: Is the GG version different? I think I'm going to give Cosmic Spacehead a try too, haven't decided which version yet though, probably MD.

Power Strike II :P. The sega8bit meet yesterday got me kinda hooked on this gem of a game, I'm going to try and complete it this week. Quick question: Is the GG version different? When I get my SMS back from the office, I'll be doing the same - it's a great game. We should maybe have a hi-score competition (that might get more attention over on Sega8bit). Someone hacked the Game Gear ROM to work on an SMS, so I'm guessing there are some significant changes. I've not tried it, so can't say for sure. I tried checking out the video of it on YouTube, but it just hangs and doesn't play in any of my browsers. :/ I think I'm going to give Cosmic Spacehead a try too, haven't decided which version yet though, probably MD. Pie Slap is brilliant, but two of the guys at yesterday's event were talking about how terrible the game itself is - I think it was PlayGeneration and Phil, but I could be wrong. I've never played it and probably never will, to be honest...

I've never played it and probably never will, to be honest... I've played it briefly on the GG before, the platforming sections seem rather pointless and awkward but the puzzle element looks quite fun. I was a big fan of the 8 bit computer Codemasters titles, especially Dizzy and Steg the Slug, so I'm definitely going to give it a proper try and see if it's any good. On a side note I just finished Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on the PS1. That was a waste of 4.5 hours.....

I'm still chugging away at SHINING THE HOLY ARK for the Saturn. After the initial thrill it started to feel a bit tedious in all those dungeons, but now it's really starting to hit its stride at the 2/3 mark. The last dungeon I finished actually required some pretty complex algebra to solve the pattern - that's a first for me, and it was nice to know I could still kind of remember all those math classes I took way back in high school. Hopefully I can finish this sometime this week.

Just finished off SHINING THE HOLY ARK. I didn't think I'd like all the dungeon crawling at first, but man, by the end I was hooked. The gameplay and presentation are fantastic - I love how the battles are seamless with the environment, none of those separate Final Fantasy battle sequences. All the exploring and talking and upgrading and treasure hunting you could do all over the world map was really addicting too. I clocked in a full 50 hours into it, and I'm still sad to see it done. The story was always fairly thin, but the ending actually pulled it together for a great goodbye. I wish more games would approach the ending the same way ARK did.
I'm totally in RPG mode, but need a little change of pace. I'd like to get into the SHINING FORCE games, but I fear too much commitment there. I think it'll either be the action RPGs SHINING WISDOM for the Saturn or LANDSTALKER for the Genesis. Either way, it's been great!

Finished Cosmic Spacehead . It was a LOT easier than I thought it was going to be, the only hardish part being the platform sections towards the end of the game. Pretty good game though and well worth a play through at least once. Started Bubba 'N' Stix on the MD now, a pretty damn hard platformer game with some interesting uses for a stick thrown in. I'm stuck on Level 3 at the minute....

I'm stuck on Level 3 at the minute.... Congrats on the Spacehead! It's still one of the fifteen-odd games I don't have yet from Europe, but I'm anxious to play it, especially if it's got some good platforming. It's been awhile since I've played a good platformer. What are some of the good platformer games that aren't Sonic or Ristar or Kid Chameleon on the MD? I'm gradually piecing together my MD collection, but I'd like to start with those and the RPGs first. It seems I've been going at it the opposite way though, just snapping up all that sports crap. I actually busted out the Genesis the other day for the first time after finishing Shining the Holy Ark on the Saturn. I'm in a Camelot/Climax mode these days, so I went with Landstalker. So far it's a pleasant game, well made and about as clever as jumping on moving blocks can get. Still, the story is pretty meager. It doesn't even hold a candle to the follow up, Dark Savior. Still, so far a nice game with fun, quirky characters and plenty of enjoyable and varied quests.

Pretty good game though and well worth a play through at least once. I got Cosmic Spacehead back when it first came out and it was my fave game for quite a while. Not certain if I actually managed to complete it, but I defo got quite a long way through it. At the moment I've been playing a lot on my PS3. Last week I started Gran Torismo 5 Prologue, quite impressive and I think I may buy the full release, I'm half way through the B class races. Also downloaded Numblast off the playstation Network, thought it was fairly crappy first couple of times I played it but it getts really addictive, i'm currently 680th world wide, which I think is pretty good One thing to note is that the characters on the screen sound very annoying, but slightly less so if you change them to japanese in the options. Also downloaded the Fuel demo, quite good, might buy it if it drops to £20. Purchased Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 for £5 from Asda! not played it yet though.

About 3/4 through Landstalker. Just got through a really tedious and frustrating part. The whole game is isometric and many of the challenges are jumping on blocks in the 3D space. The problem is the perspective warps everything so it is really tough to see where you are jumping. This one particular part was very punishing in that if you missed a block you'd fall all the way down and would have to climb and jump your way back up. A tremendous pain, and frustrating, too. Dark Savior had some bits like this and it nearly drove me mad. Other than that, though, Landstalker is fun enough. It's like Dark Savior Lite. I just want to get it done, though, so I can move on to the Shining Force games.

Just finished MediEvil: Resurrection on PSP with all 15 chalices and the highest grade on all the carnival mini-games. I haven't enjoyed a game as much for a long time, well worth a play through if you have a PSP.
Going back to Bubba 'N' Stix now where I'm currently stuck on Level 3...

I've been searching for a nice complete version of AX BATTLER for the Game Gear for a several months now, and finally my copy arrived. I busted it out and so far am very impressed. It's a lot smaller in scope than GOLDEN AXE WARRIOR, and rather than ripping off ZELDA this time they do it to ZELDA II, haha, but still wonderfully done. Shame there is hardly anything RPG-wise on the system...
GOLDEN AXE WARRIOR is definitely one of my top five Master System favorites, and it's nice to see the legend live on in another form on another system. Too bad they never did any further Golden Axe RPG follow-ups on other systems...

What, am I the only person playing games?! I've been playing Phantasy Star II in my spare time. Took some getting used to the downgrades from the first game (generic battle screens, no 3D dungeons) but it definitely has many notable strengths all its own, too. The graphics are pretty weak, honestly, as were many of the first generation Genesis games, but the story is actually quite fleshed out and even moving at times. But man, the cover art is truly awful. I'm usually a fan of paintings, but this has to be the ugliest and even scariest. It really doesn't represent the game much at all. Shame they botched this and the rest of the Phantasy Star sequel covers considering how amazing the art is for the Master System game...

I've been playing so many games just lately I haven't had much time to visit forums ;D. I'm considering going to buy Modern Warfare 2 for my PS3 later, I'm just not sure I have enough time in my life for it at the minute .
