I received a Light Phaser from Argentina today, it's a really nice variation. I allready documented this version on the main site as Schlingle has one, just thought i'd post an 'exploded' picture of it.. Here are my main (boxed) light phaser variations.. Anyone got anymore to add? I know im missing the balck and white one that Bock has. Also there's a stadard euro one with cardboard sections as the internal packing, a bit like what they did with the SMSII.

I've always liked the Tec Toy "Pistola" title the most, how cool is that? Pistola!

Yeah, I've always wondered why the Japanese didn't do the whole Light Phaser thing. It's not as if their culture is against having arms...hell, Zillion is basically a full fledged add for the Light Phaser. They don't try the Phaser, but yet they make a Sports Pad? Something's amiss.

Years ago I'm sure I saw a Japanese box set with the gun and a game. I have never seen a picture since though, and I don't seem to have saved it anywhere.

I'm pretty damn sure I've seen a Japanese light gun too on one of my late night Yahoo! searches. Me thinks this needs some research.... I only have one light phaser ATM, The biggest one . I wonder if the Menacer is compatible with the SMS? Would make for a great game of Operation Wolf!!!

I'd imagine it was a Korean set, since it would make no sense whatsoever to release a Japanese set since there isn't a single light gun game in the Mark III library. Koreans, on the other hand, had games like Safari Hunt at the very least.

Leave it to schlingel to post that one...the Korean master. What does it actually say on the Phaser there, you can't really read it with the glare (is it all in Korean, too?).

I'm pretty sure that the only Irwin product was the full SMS box set with the gun, but only the box and the box for Hang-on/Safari Hunt had the Irwin logo. Otherwise, we'd at the very least be seeing a lot of Hang-on/Astro Warrior boxes from the other pack, or something other than what was in that original box. I'd say both the Irwin SMS II and the Light Phaser are myths.

Is there some way to use these on a lcd tv as the crt i had i could no longer get parts for? I've heard recently that there is a device available to make some old school light phasers work on an LCD tv. No further info though..
