Hi all!
This thread does not really belong here, but I did not find any better place to put it on this forum...
Anyway, I have a japanese Mark III cartridge, which obviously does not fit into my PAL SMS. The japanese cartridge is of a different physical size and has a different number of pins (44 instead of 50).
If I understand things right it should be possible to construct a simple converter for this if I just connect the right pins on the cartridge to the right pins into the SMS. Does anyone know anything about this? Should this be possible?
If so, does anyone know the physical specifications on the Mark III cartridge so that I know which kind of edge connector I should buy (row pitch, lead spacing, etc)?
Best regards Daddy Boastin

It would be nice if it were that simple, but as I understand it the header information on Mark III games is different than on SMS games in the west, so it's not just a matter of re-aligning the pins. That's why the Japanese MyCard games do not work on western systems, despite having the same pin configuration.

What about using a gender adapter? I've only ever used mine to play western carts on a Japanese system.

Thank you for the answers. I've searched for information a little bit more now, and it seems like you're right regarding the header information.
That is a pity, but at least I don't have to spend time and money building a converter that doesn't work :-)
