Hey guys, I figured since most of us all know each other there was no need for introductions, but it's been nice reading about the non-SMS parts of all your collections.
Me, I'm amassing a fair collection on other systems. I'm a few games shy of a complete 32X collection, I've got about 60 complete Genesis games, 25 Dreamcast games and 25 Sega CD games including all the Working Designs games. My main focus, though, other than the SMS is the Saturn. That was the first system I saved up money for doing summer jobs, and the one that means the most to me (it was my symbol of independence!). The games are pretty sweet, too. I've got a nearly complete first-party collection, missing only that elusive Daytona USA NetLink version that makes the US Sonic look common. I then have most of the good or expensive games from third parties (Working Designs, Capcom, etc.), and I've got complete versions of every system and first-party peripheral released here in North America. I'm really down to crap sports games and bad cross platform games to round off the set, but shipping is such a mint on those heavy cases that I've put it on the back burner in favor of those lighter SMS games.
As for SMS, I've got the complete US set (minus the Sonic barcode) and dozens of variations (Now there are no limits, mis-spellings, re-releases and Canadian barcodes) and am nearing completing the European and Japanese sets. I need about two dozen from each collection to finish those puppies off.
In the future I hope to collect more Game Gear (I've always wanted that TV tuner) and hell, if I get desperate enough, Pico. I'd like to go for a first-party set of Genesis games too. Successful consoles always turn me off from collecting for them because there are just so many crap third-party or sports games. Once you get through the "Greats" on the SMS, you're in pretty good shape by comparison.
Anyway, thanks for starting up the board, rups, I look forward to geeking out with you all further.
